I have a scanner at home and have used it multiple times to save old family pictures for posterity OR to sending pictures to others in an e-mail attachment. In fact, I have a usb with several pictures loaded on it and have successfully downloaded them and posted them to facebook. I am well acquainted with using a scanner, saving images to a floppy or USB and subsequently opening the file and posting it to a webpage, blog/twitter/facebook/flickr post.
