I have not used Irfanview or www.picnik.com. However, I have done a lot of photo scanning and editing using my home scanner and program. I have cropped and re-sized photos, removed red-eye and inserted them into documents, e-mails, e-mail attachments, facebook and myspace.
I prefer to use programs that are attached to my personal scanner and digital camera. Most programs I have used are self explanatory and user friendly. If you can follow the directions or use the help button, most are easy to use.
I also save photos that I have scanned and edited to my usb device, a floppy and CD.
It's great to be able to share the images with family and friends.
